Stay away from those sugary sports drinks and make one that's worth it.

The neon sports drinks that you find at the grocery store are loaded with sugar, high fructose corn syrup (corn sugar), and artificial colors and flavorings. Why not make a revitalizing beverage at home from fresh, healthy ingredients?  It’s easier than you think.

HOMEMADE HYDRATION

Lemonade, when done properly, is refreshing, cooling, and detoxifying! The lemon gives a vitamin C boost and acts as a mild detox in your system (never a bad thing), the agave syrup is a low glycemic sweetener that will give you a little energy boost without the horrible sugar crash, the sea salt will deliver much needed electrolytes and finally the cayenne pepper will get your circulation going to cool you off and put a pep in your step!

One Serving – 10 oz

2 tablespoons of organic lemon juice (½ lemon squeezed)

10 oz of filtered water

Agave syrup to taste (start with 1 tsp)

A pinch of sea salt

A pinch of cayenne pepper

Mix well and pour over ice. Let the memories of picnics, bike rides and building sandcastles at the beach wash over you! Its like having your own personal “happy place” in a glass. Ahhhh….
