RECIPE: ROCKET FUEL

It happens to all of us. Even with the best of intentions, a busy day can fly by without us putting a decent morsel of food in our bodies.

Some days we’re so busy that not an ounce of goodness enters our body. Instead, we replace nutrition with caffeine and adrenaline, and while we manage to power through the day, by dark we’re slumped over the sofa wondering what went wrong. Vegetable juice can do the trick: when you’re really stretched for time and the concept of a sit-down meal is non-existent, whip up this little ditty for a boost. Or, why not make it on Sunday and keep a few batches in your fridge when your fuel way low?

ROCKET FUEL

  •  6 leaves of spinach
  • 3 unpeeled carrots
  • 1 unpeeled, uncored apple
  • 1 whole medium sized beet

This little tonic will keep your brain sharp. It is chock full of carotenes, potassium, vitamin C and B vitamins, fueling your system with goodies and without weighing you down.
