Ahhhh, another holiday weekend of eating yourself into oblivion and drinking yourself into liver failure.

This is the pattern we celebrate every holiday weekend only to wish we had just said no. Hindsight is 20-20.

What if there was a magical cure for those mortifying morning-afters? Well, there is – sort of, and it’s probably something you’ve overlooked at the deli and supermarket tons of times.

 

COCONUT WATER!!!

Coconut water is nature’s cure for really almost all that ails you in the over-indulgence department. A hangover is your body’s reaction to being dehydrated. The sugar in alcohol depletes your body of water and electrolytes like Potassium and Magnesium that keep your body’s water balance in check. Your brain swells, your liver can’t properly process the alcohol and BANG! A nasty morning after.

Coconut water’s secret is that it has the EXACT balance of electrolytes that your body creates naturally for itself. It mimics your body’s plasma almost identically. Regular hydration drinks like Gatorade offer just a fraction of electrolytes, 50 mg of Potassium or so compared to coconut water’s 650mg.
