Get beyond black and green and THINK PINK - tea that is!

A few cups of Hibiscus Tea a day has been shown to significantly lower blood pressure as well as reduce the cholesterol in the blood. Because it is caffeine-free you can drink it at any time or ice it for a great water replacement during or after your workouts!

HIBISCUS TEA

When most of us think about Hibiscus flowers, tropical sunsets and warm beaches come to mind. Turns out this beautiful little bud is quite the tamer of hypertension – a secret the Chinese have known for ages!

A study from Tufts University in Boston found that drinking 3 cups of Hibiscus Tea a day was shown to reduce the systolic blood pressure (the top number), by 7 points over a 6 week study. This was huge compared to the 1 point drop by those given the placebo tea.

You can find this tropical delight at most health food stores and tea shops. Its rich dark pink color comes from the flowers of the Hibiscus tree. Add a little honey to taste and you’re ready to go!

* A friend of ours who is currently on very high doses of blood pressure meds tried this! With the meds his pressure is normally around 154/90. He tried having 3 cups of Hibiscus a day and within 72 hours his blood pressure was down to 131/82. Ain’t no stopping us now!
