Wouldn’t it be dreamy if coming home was like checking in at the spa? Well, it can be...

Your home should be a place of tranquility, safety and relaxation. A place you come to recharge your batteries and de-stress. Making your home your own private sanctuary can mean better sleep, better moods and higher productivity at work.

TRY THESE SIMPLE TIPS!

  • Green plants, cut flowers and blooming bulbs (like amaryllis or paperwhites), pieces of wood, rocks and other organic elements can create a feeling of nature indoors. Don’t have a green thumb? Get yourself some succulent plants (cacti etc) that rarely need any attention but sunshine and the VERY occasional watering.
  • Choose hues that bring about certain moods. Blue and green promote a relaxed, zen-like feeling and are great for the bedroom and bath, while warmer colors (golden yellow, chocolate, merlot) bring about a cozy environment and are inviting in a family or living room.
  • Surround yourself and your senses with enticing, beautiful things. Artwork, natural fragrances, yummy textures and soothing sounds all provide a sanctuary-like environment in which to relax.
  • Create a room or area in your home for peace and calm. A small place for reflection and meditation can provide shelter from the day to day insanity and give you a chance to escape, even if just for an hour reading a book.
  • Display handmade or meaningful gifts from loved ones and photos of family and friends. Little reminders of those people in your life who love you madly…just as you are.
