Okay, so we may not be huge bee fans when they are chasing us around our picnic, but the truth is that bees are health and wellness geniuses!

Did you know the ONLY sterile environment in nature is the beehive? Did you know that bee products are some of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet? That incorporating the fruits of their labor into your everyday diet will not only keep the germs at bay, but also increase your vitality?

Royal Jelly: When a Queen is chosen she is fed only Royal Jelly for her entire life. She becomes twice the size of a worker bee, and while the life span of a worker bee is 35 – 40 days, the Queen lives for 4 – 5 years and lays 3,000 eggs a day! It is the “superfood” of  nature and has amazing effects on health and vitality.

Bee Pollen: With the addition of water, the human body can survive on Bee Pollen ALONE. This is because it is the only food which contains in exact balance the 22 known essential nutrients which we need to maintain health and vitality. Great to keep in your office drawer or your purse for a quick energy shot, anytime!

Propolis: This is a substance made by the bees from the protective resins on flower buds to produce a powerful antibiotic and antifungal that they use to protect the hive from bacteria, viruses, fungus and mold. This makes the beehive the ONLY sterile environment that occurs naturally in nature! Have a sore throat? Gargle with some propolis and hot water for a quick cure. Have a cut or scrape? Put some propolis on it to keep it bacteria free!

Raw Honey: Besides being nature’s perfect sweetener, consuming locally made, raw honey will help you keep those awful allergies at bay. Raw honey contains traces of the flower pollens that they collect to make honey. A teaspoon taken daily with water will help your body build immunity to those allergens without causing irritation, and without resorting to allergy meds that can make you a zombie. Just remember to buy your honey locally to ensure that the pollens you’re allergic to are the ones used to make the honey.

Take advantage of all their hard work in the garden and you’ll be buzzing with energy!

*If you are allergic to bees or bee stings DO NOT take bee products without first consulting your doctor.
