It's easier than you might think...

Want to get away for once without packing on those extra 5 pounds, and letting your workout schedule fall to pieces? It’s as easy as a 10 minute run….

It may sound crazy, but over a 5 – 7 day getaway, 10 minute runs will keep your body going as if you were still at the gym. FYI, it won’t cancel out that giant 1,000 calorie frozen margarita or the double desserts you’ve been packing in your pie hole… We’re just sayin’, naive Nancy.

FITTING IN FITNESS!

BEACHY?
Go for a run in the sand. Follow a run/walk ratio of two minutes running, one minute walking. Cool off with a dip in the ocean as your reward.

MOUNTAINS? Plan a daily run/walk hike. Walk for one to two minutes, then run for one to two minutes. Trail running is incredible exercise, and with all the extra oxygen from the trees you’ll feel extra invigorated.

ROAD TRIP?
Rest areas are a great place to squeeze in some exercise. Wear workout friendly clothing in the car, and when you make pit stops, walk for one to two minutes, then run for five to 10 minutes. If you don’t have 20 minutes to kill, squat jumps are great to get the heart pumping and the muscles flexing. Just do them for as long as you’ve got…or can handle.

DISNEY? Many hotels connected with parks like Disney World have designated areas for running, and it’s sometimes possible to run from your accommodations to the park – yes we realize this is “not bloody likely!”but hey, who knows how over-zealous your travel buddies are? Ask the hotel staff for routes.

With a little effort and imagination you can enjoy you’re getaway and stay on track – and wouldn’t THAT be nice?
