Ahh, the lunch conundrum.

You know you should eat something healthy, but those salads can become old so quickly that the thought of eating another lettuce leaf can send your gag reflex into full effect. Before that devil on your shoulder has you trekking for some fast food, consider these suggestions to transform your salad into a super-tasty superfood.

SALAD SUPERFOOD

  • Nuts: Try adding a handful of your favorite nut the mix. Not only will they give you a great protein boost, but they control the hunger hormone Ghrelin, which will curb your cravings throughout the day. Not bad for crunch factor, either.
  • Dried Cranberries: These little wonders are full of antioxidants and add a satisfying sweet tang to an ordinary salad.
  • Orange slices: Nothing says interesting like a hint of Asian flair and adding some Mandarin Orange slices to your salad gives you a great boost of Vitamin C.
  • Legumes (aka BEANS): They come in all shapes and sizes and are rich with fiber and protein.

The combinations are endless and adding new fruits and veggies to your salad can breathe new life into your otherwise dead lunch time routine. Let us know in the comment section what kinds of treats you like to decorate your greens with.
